Newly vs Rork:
which one ships Android?

Most comparisons on this site are between different kinds of tool. This one is not. Newly and Rork both turn a plain-English prompt into a real React Native app, and both let you export the code. The honest split is narrower and more useful than a feature grid suggests: it comes down to Android, and to how deep into Apple’s platform you need to go.

Founder, Newly

Key Takeaways

  • Closer than most comparisons. Both turn a plain-English prompt into a real React Native app, and both let you export the code.
  • Android is the split. Newly builds signed APKs and AABs in-platform on every plan; Rork Max does not support Android at all.
  • Rork Max goes deeper on Apple. Native SwiftUI, Apple Watch, Vision Pro, widgets and Live Activities, further than React Native reaches.
  • Rork is cheaper to try, Newly cheaper to finish. Rork has a free tier and plans from $25 to $200+; Newly is $25 a month with the store pipeline on every plan.

The short answer

Rork goes deeper on iOS. Newly actually ships Android.

Rork comes in two tiers. Rork Pro generates React Native and Expo apps, the same stack Newly generates. Rork Max generates native SwiftUI compiled with Xcode, which reaches Apple Watch, Vision Pro, widgets and Live Activities, genuinely further than React Native goes. But Rork Max is iOS-only, and it starts at $200 a month. Newly builds for both stores on the entry plan: an Android emulator, signed APKs, a guided AAB build, and an iOS build submitted to App Store Connect with your Apple keys provisioned for you. Pick on your platforms, not on the marketing.

What each one is

Rork

A prompt-to-app builder split across two products. Rork Pro builds cross-platform React Native and Expo apps for iOS and Android. Rork Max runs real Macs in the cloud, writes native SwiftUI, compiles it with Xcode and previews it in a streamed iOS Simulator, Apple platforms only. Code export and the hosted backend come with paid plans.

Newly

A prompt-to-app builder for both stores. It generates React Native and TypeScript with Expo, previews in an in-browser Android emulator or Expo Go, builds signed APKs and AABs and iOS builds in-platform, auto-provisions your Apple keys, and submits the iOS build to App Store Connect. Liquid Backend is included, and the code exports to GitHub or a ZIP.

The fork

One path, or a choice you cannot undo.

This is the part a feature list hides. Rork is two products, and the tier that goes furthest on Apple platforms is the same tier that drops Android. You do not get both.

Rork Pro and Rork Max are separate tiers, not an upgrade path that adds capability. Going deeper on Apple platforms means moving to Max, and Max removes Android entirely while costing eight times more. Newly is a single path that covers both stores on the entry plan. Rork figures from Rork’s published documentation and pricing, September 2026.

Side by side

Newly vs Rork, row by row.

Rork’s column has to be read as two products, because the answer often changes between Pro and Max, and the tier that goes furthest on iOS is the one that drops Android entirely.

Where Newly is stronger

Android is a target, not an export

Newly's Deploy panel, under Launch, has four Android targets: a build for the in-browser emulator, a signed APK for sideloading and testers, a signed AAB for Google Play, and store-readiness checks before a public release. Rork Pro produces an AAB you upload yourself, and Rork Max produces no Android build at all. If half your users are on Android, this is the whole comparison.

No second account in the build path

Rork's own FAQ notes that publishing with Rork Pro also requires an Expo account for the build process. Newly builds inside the platform. One fewer account to create, one fewer quota to hit, and one fewer place for a release to stall on a Friday afternoon.

The Apple setup is done for you, in your own account

Connect your Apple ID, pass two-factor, pick your team, and Newly auto-provisions the required keys and pre-fills your app name and bundle ID. When the build finishes it is submitted to App Store Connect automatically. The credentials live in your Apple account, not ours, and they are reused across your projects.

The full pipeline is on the entry plan

Newly starts at $25 a month and the iOS and Android build pipeline is included at that price. Rork's deepest tier, Rork Max, is only available on plans of $200 a month and up, and that is also the tier that drops Android.

Where Rork is stronger

A comparison written by one of the two products is only worth reading if it is willing to lose a round. Here is where Rork is the better answer.

Rork Max goes deeper on Apple platforms

Rork Max writes native SwiftUI compiled with Xcode on real cloud Macs, and targets iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Vision Pro. It supports widgets, Live Activities, Dynamic Island, Siri intents and iMessage apps, plus 3D games, AR, HealthKit and HomeKit. React Native and Expo, which is what Newly generates, does not reach all of that. If you are building an iOS-only app that lives in those APIs, Rork Max is the better tool and we would rather say so.

You can try it for nothing

Rork has a free tier. Newly does not, it starts at paid. If you want to type a prompt and see what comes back before spending anything, Rork lets you and we do not. That is a real advantage at the top of the funnel.

Team workspaces

Rork supports inviting collaborators by email or shareable link with editor and viewer roles, and grouping multiple projects under a shared team workspace. If several people need to be in the same project, that is worth weighing.

A streamed iOS Simulator

Rork Max previews your app in a real iOS Simulator streamed to the browser, so animations and gestures behave as they would on device. It is a genuinely good preview experience for iOS-first work.

Which to pick

Pick Newly if

  • You are shipping to Google Play as well as the App Store
  • You want APK and AAB builds without leaving the platform
  • You would rather not add an Expo account to the build path
  • You want the whole pipeline on the entry plan, not a $200 tier

Pick Rork if

  • Your app is iOS-only and uses Watch, Vision Pro, or widgets
  • You need Live Activities, Dynamic Island, HealthKit or HomeKit
  • You want to try a builder before paying anything
  • Several people need to work in the same project

FAQ

Newly vs Rork, answered.

At the entry tier they are closer than most comparisons: both take a plain-English prompt and generate a real React Native and Expo app, and both let you own and export the code. The split shows up in two places. Android: Newly treats it as a first-class target with an in-browser Android emulator, signed APK builds for testing, and a guided AAB build for the Play Store. Rork Pro generates an AAB you upload yourself, and Rork Max does not support Android at all. Apple depth: Rork Max writes native SwiftUI compiled with Xcode and reaches Apple Watch, Vision Pro, widgets, Live Activities and Dynamic Island, which React Native and Expo do not cover in the same way.

Both stores, one plan.

From $25 a month, describe the app and get React Native code you own, an Android emulator and APK and AAB builds, and an iOS build submitted to App Store Connect with your Apple keys provisioned for you. No second Expo account, and no $200 tier to reach the pipeline.
